Georgian taxes in brief

Georgia has a simple tax system with few rates, but which one applies depends on how you earn:

  • Employees pay a flat 20% income tax on salary, after a 2% contribution to the funded pension scheme. The salary calculator works it out both ways.
  • Individual entrepreneurs with small business status pay 1% of income (3% above 500,000 ₾ a year) instead of 20% of profit. See the small business tax calculator.
  • Landlords pay 5% on rent from homes let to live in, and 20% of profit on other property — the rental income tax calculator shows both.
  • Companies pay no tax on profit they keep. When they pay it out, there is 15% profit tax, plus 5% dividend tax for individual owners — try the profit and dividend tax calculator.

Every calculator lists its sources, so you can check each rate in the law yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Are these calculators up to date?

Can I use the results for my tax return?

They are a reliable estimate based on the standard rules, but special cases such as tax exemptions or unusual income are not covered. The Revenue Service and the law decide.
